All Public Safety events have a purpose, either to pay tribute to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to the citizens of Arizona or to raise awareness and support organizations such as the 100 Club of Arizona.
Saturday, May 5, 2012 – 11th Annual AZ Peace Officers Memorial Charity Golf Tournament
The AZ Peace Officers Memorial Golf Tournament will take place at the Silverado Golf Club (7605 E. Indian Bend Rd) in Scottsdale as part of Arizona Police Week. The four person scramble is $300.00 per foursome and includes lunch, green fees, and golf cart. Prizes and raffles will be available. April 7 is the deadline to enter. Saturday, May 19, 2012 – 11th Annual “They Served Well” Memorial Tribute Walk
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office in cooperation with the Arizona Department of Public Safety and City of Phoenix Police and Fire Departments is sponsoring the 11th Annual Memorial Tribute Walk to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. The walk starts at 7:30 a.m. at the Central Court Plaza on 201 West Jefferson St. in Phoenix. The walk will stop at the City of Phoenix Memorial and the Arizona Peace Officers Memorial for a tribute and short ceremony. A special tribute will be made in memory of Sheriff’s Deputy William Coleman. There is no fee to participate in the walk and free parking is available at 5th Avenue and Madison Street. Saturday, September 8, 2012 – Tour de Force
Phoenix PD Officers Ben Carro, Rusty Baubie, Bryon Keuhn, and Chris Talley are seeking donations for the upcoming Tour de Force ride September 8, 2012. The ride, from Boston to Ground Zero, benefits fallen officers families. The Tour de Force is a 501c3 and more information can be found on their website www.tourdeforceny.com. Donations can be made on that web site with a list of officers being honored. If you donate using one of the Phoenix Police Officers names who are participating, they will get credit for that amount.
